Please Help Us Give a WARM Welcome To Springfield Brewing Company!!

We’re so excited to have these guys back in the market! For a very brief moment back in my Conley Road days there was a distributor that would bring them in, but stock was sporadic and often the beer was short-dated, which was a shame, because the beers are super-tasty! We’re honored to be one of the first to be able to re-introduce this brewery to y’all, and with some brand-new beers as well, along with the old favorites! No longer will I have to truck cases of their IPAs back with me when we go down to Springfield to visit the aquarium or Fantastic Caverns!

Far from newcomers to the scene, the folks at SBC have been proudly brewing (and locally-owned!) since 1997! If you’re ever in downtown Springfield, (seriously, the aquarium alone is worth the trip!) swing in to get some fantastic food and fresh brews…you won’t regret it!

We didn’t have room to bring the entire line in yet, but have a really nice cross-section of their beers, with more (and some special releases!) to come in the future. Check ’em out!!

Blue Canoe Pale Ale-5.4% abv, 30 IBUs. “Blue Canoe is a well balanced copper colored pale with a pleasant mild malt character and citrusy hop flavor. Greene Ghost IPA-6.5% abv, 65 IBUs. “Greene Ghost IPA starts off with hops in the nose, then with a nice smack of hops on the kisser, followed by a lingering hoppy wonderfulness! And the right blend of malts, mashing profile, fermentation control, and craft keep Greene Ghost in balance. Greene Dragon DIPA-7.5% abv, 65IBUs. “Greene Dragon Double IPA has a big punch of juicy, tropical melon notes that fill the nose, followed by a citrus silky smooth finish.  This delicious brew features a double helping of Citra and Idaho 7 hops. Greene Dragon is sure to leave any Hop Head happy. Pomegranate Hibiscus Squeeze-5% abv, 8 IBUs. “This kettle sour aged with Pomegranate puree and Hibiscus flowers is a refreshing patio beer. Light bodied and aromatic, pink to violet in color with a floral and fruity nose. Flavor starts fruity with hints of raspberry and cranberry then becomes slightly floral and earthy. Finish is tart with a hint of tannin for a clean and refreshing end.”

Oscura Mexican-Style Dark Lager-5.9% abv, 18 IBUs. “Our newest Spring Seasonal! Rich chestnut hue and a light to medium body. Brewed with a variety of roasted malt and pilsner malt for a mild caramel, cocoa and biscuit malt flavors. Touch of hop bitterness, but not much hop flavor. Clean, smooth with an impeccably balanced finish and the slightest hint of maize. Try it with a lime. Oscura (translated means dark) is a dark lager that was first brewed at SBC in February 2020 and quickly became a beloved draft offering among our regulars and Mug Club Members. The can design is inspired by one of our favorite Ozark night time activities; sitting around the campfire with friends and enjoying a good brew.”

So here’s the best part…not only are we the first (and only, for the time being) in town to receive these beers (we’ve been working on this for a while now!) we’re also running some fantastic limited-time pricing on the entire lineup to say “welcome to Columbia!” All six-packs are $11.99 with a $.15 Fuel-Saver!!

Why not enjoy some brand-new-to-the-market, Missouri-owned-and-brewed suds (at great prices!) while you’re watching the Big Game this weekend? As more and more regional/local breweries are bought up by major conglomerates, it’s more important than ever to drink local and put our hard-earned dollars to work in our local communities. Oh, and the beer’s darn tasty too! 🙂 And remember, if you wanna snag some of these delicious brews for the game this weekend, you’ll only find them here!

Cheers,

Dan
