Rare Whiskey Drop: Irish, KC, & Rye Edition

We’re super excited to get a small allocation drop of three whiskies in this morning. We only received one bottle of the Kentucky Owl (we were supposed to get two but one was cut, so we’re lucky to have it!), we snagged two of only 1500 bottles of the Writers’ Tears to make it to the US, and we lucked out and received two more bottles of the Rieger’s Monogram, which was rare enough that it was originally in our big Holiday bourbon raffle!

All three of these are on the shelves behind the counter. Come check ’em out!

2021 “Writers’ Tears” Cask Strength Irish Whiskey-Cask-strength Irish whiskies are still quite difficult to find in the market, and this is one of the few (outside of Redbreast Cask-Strength 12yr) that I’ve seen anywhere. Whereas Redbreast 12 Cask-Strength is pure Single-Pot Still, this is a blend of Single-Pot Still and Single-Malt whiskies, bottled at cask strength. Triple distilled, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 108.4 proof.

$134.99/bottle (save $35.00!)

Kentucky Owl 11 Year “Bayou” Finished RyeThis isn’t an easy one to snag! This Kentucky Owl Straight Rye was aged 11 years and then finished for an additional 12 months in Bayou Mardi Gras XO (rum) casks. Love rye with a rum cask finish? This may be for you. Extremely limited!

$399.99/bottle (save $65.00!!)

Rieger’s 2022 “Monogram” Whiskey-We originally had our two-bottle allocation of this whiskey in our rare whiskey Holiday drawing (where they were quickly snatched up) but we lucked into two more! J. Rieger has really started to make a name for themselves with their unique, complex Oloroso Sherry solera system and this non-chill filtered bottling is a blend of straight bourbons aged a minimum of five years before entering their solera of rare Sherry casks for an extended finishing period (up to 4 additional years!).

$126.99/bottle

Cheers,

Dan
