Super-Limited High-End Wine Drop…Get ‘Em Now!!

I’ve been so focused on trying to get the bourbon thing set up this week that I nearly missed this opportunity! But thanks to three of our reps who keep me on my toes, we managed to snag a handful of high-end, critically-acclaimed reds that are here just in time for gift-giving (ya know, for that wine-nerd friend who has everything…) or four pouring at your Holiday table. Check ’em out!!

2019 Antinori TignanelloThis is one of the best-known, most-loved, and critically-acclaimed so-called Super-Tuscans, a wine that really demonstrates what can be accomplished when one’s willing to break the mold slightly. Oh, and check out the press this year!

96pts Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

96pts Wine Spectator (and their #5 of the Top 100 Wines of 2022!!!)

We received 6 bottles, and are selling it for the crazy competitive price of $129.99/bottle.

2019 Robert Mondavi “Oakville” Cabernet-The status of the Robert Mondavi winery as an icon in Napa Valley history is undisputed, but some of the wines in recent years have seemed kind of hit-or miss. That seems to be changing, though! This is 85% Cabernet, 6% each Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, and 1% Merlot, and is sourced from estate vineyards in Oakville, including the famous To Kalon vineyard. Wine Spectator lavished praise on this bottling, noting “This wine marks a comeback for the venerable Robert Mondavi Winery, with its first appearance in our Top 100 since 2011.” Oh yeah, check out the press…

94pts Wine Spectator (and their #6 of the Top Wines of 2022!!)

We received a six-pack case (all they’d give us) and it’s only $74.99/bottle!

2019 Seña Red Blend-I’ve long been looking for some blockbuster South American wines to add to our high-end wine cabinet, as a customer recently pointed out that that was something we’d been lacking. I did a little digging and found this beauty. A blend of 60% Cabernet, 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, and 4% Petit Verdot, this spent 22 months in French oak, 80% of it new. Check out the press!!

98pts Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

98pts James Suckling

97pts Decanter

We received 2 bottles and have it at a killer $119.99/bottle!

2019 Chateau Quintus Saint-Emilion Grand Cru-For me, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without Bordeaux (some of y’all apparently feel the same, as our Bordeaux endcap has been hit hard lately!). This is a rather new (only 9 years old!) iteration of an older estate that, in 2011, was purchased and revamped by Domaine Clarence Dillon, who also owns rockstar marques Chateau Haut Brion and Chateau La Mission Haut Brion. The 2019 is 55% Merlot with an unusually high percentage of Cabernet Franc for this bottling (45%!!).

96pts Jeb Dunnuck

95pts James Suckling

95pts Decanter

We received 2 bottles and have it on sale for $134.99/bottle!

And here’s a really, REALLY special one…they had two bottles, and we scored one of them…

2011 Philippe Foreaux “Goutte d’Or” Vouvray Moelleux-From the importer (Rosenthal): “Once in a generation, conditions conspire to create the grandest wine from the Vouvray appellation: Philippe Foreau’s “Goutte d’Or”, which in 2011 marks its third release in the entirety of the estate’s history (the previous two were 1947 and 1990). The wine is a tour de force, boasting 230 grams of residual sugar as a result of roughly 70% of the grapes enduring the effects of botrytis. On the palate, an impressive density delivers notes of apricot, straw, fig and kirsch, yet it carries only 9.5% alcohol. Harvest took place on the 10th of October and the total production was 2400 bottles. Philippe expects the wine to evolve over the course of the next 100 years, so this is a bottle for the deepest part of the cellar.”

Check out these beauties…And that one on the LEFT!!

Where else locally can you get a 100-yr bottle of wine?! This is such cool stuff and, like a great Sauternes, will need some time to come into its own. $229.99/bottle…we received one bottle of the two they had!

These are all at great prices, have fantastic press, and a couple of ’em you’re not gonna find anywhere else locally! Come on down and snag a bottle or two before they’re gone!

Cheers,

Dan
